I simply changed the SSD in my MacBook Air (early 2015). I erased/formatted it within the Disk Utility (selecting APFS as desired format and GUID partition scheme) after which tried to revive my Time Machine back-up. Appeared prefer it was going nicely and gave me circa 1 half hours till all restored. Countdown continued. Wonderful.
However then as an alternative I bought prohibitory (circle with bar via it) image. Studying spherical, perhaps too late an OS for my Mac? Or another concern?
However once I attempt reinstalling the model beforehand on my Mac (utilizing command + R on start-up), it provides me the choice to conform to putting in El Capitan, however I now can’t see the brand new SSD to put in it to. Likewise, once I go into Disk Utility, I can’t see any inside drive anymore though it was exhibiting up earlier than I formatted it. (And I can’t see an choice to ‘View > Present all units’ referenced in numerous different threads.)
Any assist (and STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS!) appreciated. Simply wish to get my outdated stuff onto a bigger drive and get on with my work!
Thanks.
