I need to use an inner SSD drive from one PC as an exterior drive (by way of USB 3.0) in one other PC in addition from that drive. This is able to save a variety of time doing a contemporary set up of the Ubuntu 18.04 and functions. The PC’s boot supervisor would enable me to change the present inner SATA drive off (Home windows OS) and boot from the exterior drive. I perceive that GRUB would present sda (i.e. inner drive) for the Ubuntu SSD in its current configuration and possibly not work. I assume I can not due to this fact merely do this out and would wish to one way or the other edit the GRUB menu previous to attempting out the SSD drive within the different pc. Can this be finished from a Home windows surroundings (e.g. notepad) or Ubuntu reside disc (on a USB stick) or one other software? The opposite different is to easily substitute the drive within the PC, however that isn’t the article right here as it will be a nuisance to should hold opening the PC as much as manually substitute drives. Twin boot just isn’t an intention right here.
