I’m attempting to hook up with the AG Listener in SSMS.
I select [Connect]
Then [Database Engine]
I kind within the title of the listener I created.
Click on [Connect]
After about 1-minute, I obtain the next ERROR message
TITLE: Connect with Server
Can’t hook up with SQLListener.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred whereas
establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not discovered or
was not accessible. Confirm that the occasion title is appropriate and that
SQL Server is configured to permit distant connections. (supplier: Named
Pipes Supplier, error: 40 – Couldn’t open a connection to SQL Server)
(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)
The system can not discover the file specified
I watched a video on YT the place this man runs by the creation of the AG.
He names his GROUP and his LISTENER
Equivalent names, and might hook up with the Listener, by SSMS.
Nevertheless, I can not.
My Group is: SQLGroup
My listener is: SQLListener
(Are they imagined to be similar names?)
I wished to ensure my Listener port was out there and was capable of be reached
so I ran the next on the first SQL Core Server.
The listener is registered in DNS and in AD – Computer systems as SQLListener.
netstat -ano|effective "2433"
TCP 192.168.2.77:2433 0.0.0.0:0 Listening 252
I did an NSLookup on the SQLListener.
CMD nslookup SQLListener
Deal with: 192.168.2.88
Deal with: 192.168.2.77
The whole lot is correct.
Do I must open the port 2433 on my work station so as to add the listener inside SSMS?
What’s it that I’m lacking right here?
