I am on the lookout for an inventory of supported Unicode variations by MacOS model. Does such an inventory exist?
To be particular: I like to grasp which code factors and code blocks are supported within the “Character Viewer”, even when no font is out there that incorporates all codepoints.
For instance, on macOS Excessive Sierra, the codeblock for Maya numerals (codepoints U+1D2E0 and up) is lacking, which was launched in Unicode model 11. Unsurprisingly, as Excessive Sierra was launched in September 2017 and Unicode 11 in June 2018.
Up to now, I’ve not discovered any such record, solely specification of the underlying file programs:
- The APFS filesytems helps all codepoints in Unicode 9, and is unaware of codepoint normalization.
- HFS plus filesystem helps any codepoint, however performs (the considerably unusual) decomposition normalization (NFD). Unicode 2.1 decomposition up until Mac OS X 10.2, and Unicode 3.2 decomposition beginning with Mac OS X 10.3.
