I need to create a modular weapon system. I already acquired most of it working, however I’m wondering make an enchancment.
Weapons in my recreation have completely different firing modes (semi and auto) and “bullet” modes (projectile and hitscan). Every weapon is it is personal blueprint, and there I can choose correct one in editor, so for instance an Uzi could be auto / histcan, whereas a rocket launcher could be semi / projectile. (the firing mode actor will get created at spawn from the category chosen in editor).
I need to make it simpler to edit by giving the weapon some variables, like unfold and projectile blueprint. However not all the variables apply to all of the varieties of weapon…
Can I create / present completely different variables within the editor, relying on different variables? If I select projectile kind of weapon, can I additionally choose the projectile kind, however not present the choice if I selected hitscan?
