Attempt as I’d, I am unable to get my macbook to speak to the native xfinity hotspot — by which I imply the general public hotspots referred to as “xfinitywifi” (not my home’s router). My iPad connects to it wonderful, and it offers me the magical sign-on web page, which I do, and Bob’s Your Uncle. However the macbook — nada — simply no community seen. I’ve tried with each chrome and safari. What’s presupposed to occur (and which occurs completely wonderful on the iPad) is that you just go to some random url, and it redirects you first to a comcast (xfinity) particular login web page, which you do, and then you definately’re in. Once more, my iPad does this precisely wonderful. However strive as I’d, I am unable to get my macbook to do it on both chrome or safari — simply sees no community in any respect. I’ve tried turning off my firewalls — no pleasure. Some internet browsing led me to a in all probability bogus idea about having to go to a non-https web site — tried that too … nothing. I am stumped. Thanks prematurely for any steering you’ll be able to provide. (BTW, works wonderful on each different secondary hotspot I’ve tried, just like the native library. WFT?!)
