I’ve FileMaker Server 17 working on a Home windows Server 2016 VM.
This association is on a server field positioned inside a properly configured and monitored firewall.
I’m now required to utilize the FileMaker REST API. To do that FileMaker REQUIRES an ssl certificates, and never a self-signed one both.
I’ve no particular want for encryption in is setting and as such I refuse to pay for a certificates. So I put in the certificates authority position on Home windows Server and generated my very own certificates. I examined that this cert works on a website online if I set up the certificates authority cert in my net browser.
My questions are these:
- Will FileMaker respect the certificates or will it reject my ad-hoc certificates authority?
- How can FileMaker know that the authority is actual? The place can I set up the authority cert on the consumer to validate the one I set up on the server?
- If this all goes horribly improper will I have the ability to restore FileMaker to its present state with the default certificates put in?
